Acne Help for Skin Diseases
Sunday, 10 August 2008

Acne is just another of the skin diseases. There may be a single factor for their eruption or a combination of many. The amount of acne your skin grows depends on some factors like the amount of water you drink in a day, your skin cleaning pattern, the products you use, the food you have and how seriously you take care of your skin. If medical reasons are looked after, there are three major causes of acne. They are bacteria, hormonal imbalances and sebum produced excessively on the sebaceous glands. The bacteria get ample opportunity to prosper when the extra sebum clogs the pores.

Your eating pattern plays a very important role in determining the number of acne you have. Have you ever thought that it is not your body but you rather who promotes chemical imbalances? There is a wide variety of food out there and we eat the ones we like and neglect some. But due to our irresponsible attitude we get to overburden our body with some nutrients and deprive from some. Hence our body reacts and forms acne. But that does not mean that you will not be affected by acne if you follow a nutritious diet. It is very necessary to digest the food you have.

Reduce Redness Of A Pimple
Tuesday, 14 August 2007
Most of us will agree that bright red pimples on the cheeks are an unsightly sight, and need to be removed as soon as possible. In the natural course the redness subsides within two to three days. But most teenagers are not willing to wait this long. They want to reduce the redness of the pimple the same day. To do so, they often pinch the pimples. This only causes unnecessary irritation of the skin and aggravates acne and inflammation further.

A better way is to use home remedies to reduce the redness. One such remedy is the toothpaste. It has been used for generations as an effective means to reduce the redness. To get best results, you should apply a small quantity of toothpaste over the pimple, and leave it overnight. When you wash it off in the morning you will find that the swelling has gone down. The toothpaste also protects the accumulation of oils near the pimple and helps the pimples to heal faster. However, you should not use the gel form of the toothpaste for this purpose.

Cystic Acne Is The Worst Form Of Acne
Sunday, 13 May 2007

Cystic acne is a very serious form of acne when compared to other forms of acne like pimples or whiteheads. This can be attributed to the fact that the roots of cystic acne penetrate deep within the skin layers. They are much larger and more painful compared to normal forms of acne.

Acne cysts are formed when the skin pores get blocked by accumulation of excess oil or sebum. Retention keratosis worsens the condition. This happens when the skin cells especially those lining the gland are shed improperly. Improper regeneration of cells leads to clogging of the skin follicles. Also, dead and damaged cells become an easy target for bacterial infections. The infection spills to other follicles which increases the inflammation and redness. Localized swelling is also observed.

Infected Pimples Can Cause Scars
Thursday, 29 March 2007

Infected pimples are agonizingly painful, ugly and can turn out to be potential scars. They are generally large when compared to whiteheads or blackheads. Most of them are bright red and filled with pus. They can be extremely painful to touch, and occur more commonly in the face since most of the oil glands are active there. They can also occur in the neck, upper back and shoulders.

Usually a pimple is formed when the skin pores gets blocked due to accumulation of sebum and dead skin cells. At this stage when the normally harmless skin bacteria present on the surface of the skin get entrapped within the skin pore, the pimple becomes infected.
